JPF Built Heritage is a consultancy established to provide practical built heritage and modern building advisory services. We specialise in providing heritage conservation services, offering technical and cost advice, condition surveys and conservation reports, material specifications and contractor selection as well as full project management services.

We also provide bespoke services for specialist new-build projects including unique domestic residences, modern sculptural installations and contemporary extensions to historic buildings, having extensive experience of combining current construction materials and technologies with traditional building trades and methods.

In addition, we offer a specialist Construction Management service combining complete project management with formal contract management to deliver building projects, from inception to completion, via individual works packages without the need for a main contractor to enable precise cost, programme and quality management tailored to the client.

Based in the South-West, JPF Built Heritage has extensive experience of working throughout Southern England, the Midlands and Wales on a large variety of listed buildings, scheduled ancient monuments and national landmarks, as well as contemporary houses, commercial premises and sculptural artworks.

We can be commissioned as a direct appointment for specific consultancy services on minor works, or as a sub-consultant as part of a project design team on major contracts. We can also co-ordinate partnership services via our network of trusted multi-disciplinary consultants and contractors, even acting as a main contractor if required.

Jez Fry (Owner) – With over 30 years working in the heritage construction sector, Jez started his career as a field archaeologist before specialising in buildings archaeology. This led to an interest in traditional building crafts and an MSc in Architectural Materials Conservation, before joining Nimbus Conservation Limited to undertake building conservation projects to an extensive range of historic structures and leading heritage sites throughout the UK, becoming the director of the company overseeing operations, tendering, contracts and procurement.

Jez then studied RICS Accredited courses in Construction Law, Building Technologies and Construction Project Planning Tendering and Finance before becoming the Clerk of the Works for Wells Cathedral, managing all aspects of major capital works and planned or responsive maintenance to deliver complete lifecycle project management to all elements of the built fabric across a significant historic estate of 35 properties.
